Identified an opportunity to leverage MURAL’s freemium model for the design community. Pitched and led a collaboration with Design Buddies, achieving a 70% user conversion rate.

What I learned...

Targeted outreach to design communities can drive product adoption by addressing the specific needs of aspiring designers. This enhanced my strategic thinking and community engagement skills. I was initially tasked with increasing user retention metrics and successfully encouraging existing customers to keep using or returning to the product. Additionally, I learned how to troubleshoot questions about the MURAL platform and design-related issues, which kept me on my toes and helped me empathize with users.

Collaborative leadership was key to successful event execution. Co-facilitating events with other interns improved my teamwork and communication skills, allowing me to support over 800 registrants. I also gained experience in meeting planning and served as a liaison between MURAL and the design community, pitching ideas to both parties to ensure successful collaboration events. With my manager’s encouragement, I learned how to run a design community, organizing events where participants could learn design through Mural’s freemium model.

Hands-on experience in planning, troubleshooting, and facilitating workshops refined my event management and problem-solving abilities, ensuring smooth participation during live events. Hearing users’ inspiring stories of how they got into design was both empowering and motivating. I was thrilled to receive positive feedback and share my insights on job hunting and overcoming creative blocks.
